After years of customers urging her to open a physical store for Pink Lemon Decorowner Ashley Ross says she’s “amazed and overwhelmed” by the community’s response to her new store in downtown Bowmanville.
“We had queues on the sidewalk just to get in. It’s amazing to see that here in my hometown,” she says.
Pink Lemon Decor debuted in 2016 after Ross stepped away from a decade-long corporate career to spend more time with his family.
The business started as a side project, but quickly grew – first with online sales, then pop-up markets, then a mobile store in a vintage 1975 motorhome dubbed the Pink Lemon Wildflower.
“It just got bigger and bigger,” Ross says. “The new studio came naturally. Once we traveled to the mobile store, more and more people asked where they could shop outside of online or in a marketplace. »
The Pink Lemon Decor studio opened on April 23 at 66 King Street Westfeaturing a collection of over 200 modern and vintage fine art prints as well as stationery, home decor, gifts – even a sticker bar.
Ross says the “showstopper” is the Aspen Petals Flower Bar, per Aspen Florist.
“It’s a European flower market where (you) can pick a few stems, choose your own bouquet, or get help making a bouquet,” says Ross.
Aspen Florist is a popular local business that is already sold out for weddings in 2022 and bookings in 2023 – Ross has long partnered with owner Lisa Radu, and says including a flower bar in the plan was a must. new store.
Pink Lemon Decor is open three days a week, Thursday through Saturday.
