POTTSTOWN — It’s time for the 6th annual YWCA Week Without Violence Youth Art Contest.
It is open to grades 5 through 12 in the tri-county area and all artwork must be submitted by Monday, October 10. Judging, open to the general public, will take place Oct. 22 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Y’s Non-Violence Week Event.
This year, the works of art have three themes: eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
The artwork should be horizontal and should not exceed 8.5 inches by 11 inches. It should use large print, few words and strong colors, according to the YW flyer. Works will be judged on theme, creativity, sharpness, originality and visual effectiveness.
First, second and third place winners will be selected in each age category – grades five through eight; and from ninth to twelfth grade.
The registration form is available online at tinyurl.com/yw3cawwv2022
